Alvaro returns to Vienna after 4 years of work at Leiden University (The Netherlands), first as NWO-VENI Fellow and lately as ALMA Support Scientist. He recently obtained an ERC-Starting Grant to investigate the origin of most massive stars in our Galaxy. As part of this project, he and his team will use radioastronomical observations from telescopes such as ALMA to investigate the interactions within filamentary networks leading the formation of stars and clusters in the Milky Way.
