Admission and Entry to the Master Programme in Astronomy

If one has completed the Bachelor programme in astronomy offered by the University of Vienna, one can easily sign up for the Master programme. The only necessary step is to submit an application online via u:space within the admission period. 

If, however, one has completed a different Bachelor programme, or has studied astronomy at a different university, there are several things to consider. 

For those with non-astronomy degrees:

Depending on which scientific subject one studied prior to switching to astronomy, several core skills must be acquired from additional courses, representing a total of up to 30 ECTS.

It is necessary to discuss with the appropriate Vice-Director of Studies which specific courses are necessary to acquire these core skills.
